We provide Laminated Bi-Metallic Wear Liners with superior wear resistance performance. Our Laminated Bi-Metals consists of a wear resistant layer made of Chrome White Iron conforming to ASTM A532 Class II Type B, and a mild steel back plate with great weldability and impact toughness. Chrome White Iron and back plates are metallurgically bonded.
Our laminated bi-metal wear parts were put into a field test in comparison against our competitor's, at a sugar plant in Australia, as shredder hammer tips. Samples were installed with same manner at same time. After about a week of heavy-duty shredding work, volume loss off our sample was much less than that off our competitor's. The life span of our competitor's sample was around 30 days, while ours lasted for 40-45 days.
We then ran a ASTM G65 Dry Sand/Rubber Wheel Abrasion Test on both samples. It showed that our competitor's sample saw 0.1374 grams of weight loss, while ours only experienced 0.1129 grams weight loss - it quantitatively proved superior wear resistance performance of our products.
The reason to this performance difference is microstructure. We observed the microstructures under 400X microscope, with samples etched with 4% nitric acid alcohol solution. Both microstructures were presented as Carbide, Martensite, and retained Austenite. Carbide content of our competitor’s sample is measured 32.4%, compared to 34.6% of ours, resulting in a better wear resistance performance of our wear plate.
