Our Chrome Carbide Overlaid (CCO) plates and/or pipes offer superior strength and wear resistance. This bi-metallic product starts with a mild steel or stainless steel base plate, followed by welding deposit of chrome carbide. Our typical chrome carbide is comprised of 28% chromium and 4.5% carbon, performing as a protective and durable surface that will not separate from the base metal.
Our CCO plates are hard-faced to above 58 HRC, with both straight and weave welding bead patterns available. The CCO plates with weave pattern, can better accommodate to incoming flow of material from varied angles and directions, providing a better wear resistance and a extended life span.
A curvature can be roller bent with our CCO plates. As a rule of thumb, the radius of curvature shall be at least 20 times greater than the total thickness of the CCO plate being rolled. As an alternative, the CCO hardfacing can also be done to an pre-welded pipe. Check with us for more details.
To quantitively measure the wear resistance of our CCO products, ASTM G65 Dry Sand/Rubber Wheel Abrasion Test has been done, and only 0.18 grams was found lost during the test.
Our standard thickness of steel back plates and CCO hardfacing are (mild steel thickness + CCO thickness, in millimeter): 6+4; 6+6; 8+5; 10+5; 10+10; 12+12.
